Farrah is our new dog. Tim has been looking for a replacement for his duck hunting partner, Sapphire for a few years now. We found her, just down the road in Cherry Valley. She is gorgeous Chessapeak Bay Retriever, 3 years old. Sweet, gentle and stolen all our hearts the minute we saw her.

Tim even lets her sleep with us.

My sister-in-law, Dianne, rounded up her boys for a quick photo session last week. I looked for locations far and wide. We ended up traveling just outside their front door. It was amazing. Dianne's comment was...are you sure this is my yard, because this is not what I see. That comment rocked.

Why pink? Dianne has breast cancer for the 2nd time. Dianne Rocks and is one tough lady.

I get so nervous when I have inside pictures to take. I asked my friend Beth (check her out at Playin With The Paulsens )for some advise. She suggested...stay simple...So I did. I took my black backdrop and my black baby rocker (which was mine when I was little) and I hooked her up with some 1st Christmas pictures last night.

This one has to be my favorite! I think she looks like a doll!

Addison is growing up! This is her first Halloween. Her grandparents brought her out to my house for a quick, before all the tricks or treats, session.

This child came with THREE costumes. I did good to get one costume for 2 kids back in the day!

Freckles (our dog) loves babies. He was not shy at giving her some Freckles love!

Don't you just love this laughter? Her grandfather (Grumpy) doing Patty-Cake was what set her in motion and then of course Freckles made her laugh a little too.

Our church scored MIKESCHAIR Concert. What an awesome, great group of young men. I can call them young men as I have finally realized that, when I say Rolling Stones or Poison or DefLeppard or Europe all the kids get this screwed up look on their faces and say...Who is THAT!?!?!

Here's a few shots, the best I could get, cause...those silly kids would not get out of my way and it would have probably been in bad taste to push them out of my way in church....ya think?

The band was so cool! They walked out into the crowd and played guitar and sang, walked in the chairs! It was amazing! To have that in our little church!

I had another Senior Session with Jessica this weekend at Village Creek State Park. You can see some of the colors in the trees starting to turn.

She's growing fast! Her mom is beautiful and she's still adorable...

But...she's discovered...pulling hair...

Milam Barn

I found this cute little barn. Asked permission to use it for pictures. It is awesome. The light was amazing. Warm. This is my Taylor...isn't she beautiful?

This little barn has been restored and I think is one of the oldest in our county. When we got there, both girls were amazed at how pretty the little barn is. We took the pictures from 6 to 7. The light was just right on the South side of the barn. The ones we took inside the barn just didn't look right to me. Ms. Milam has a little guest book sitting out and a picture board of the renovations. It was neat to see the work in progress.

Sunflowers

I love Sunflowers. I decorated our first house in Sunflowers. Sunflowers were everywhere. Our tiny, tiny, house was out in the boondocks, two bedrooms, the washer and dryer were in the front entry way, our closet was a rod above the entertainment center in the bedroom, the girls barely had room for a bed in their room, the rent was only $250 per month and that included water...there wasn't much room for anything else...but....there....was....room....for my Sunflower decor. My dad visited us once when we lived there...I would catch him looking around scratching his head...probably wondering where in the world did I find all that Sunflower...

We were riding around Saturday and I found a field of sunflowers. They were beautiful!
Mary Margaret was in a good mood and worked for the camera! Taylor on the other hand was in a MOOD and would not do right....

I Love this little sweetheart, Mollianna! She was so much fun! Blowing bubbles and jabbering up a storm. I am afraid that I scared her a little though. Her mom forgot her blanket and really really wanted some shot of her on her belly, so we had to lay her on the grass without the blanket. Can we say...SCARED FACE? She didn't look at my camera for about 10 minutes after that AND decided that her delicate legs were going no where near the itchy grass. All those photos the legs were up in the air!!!

Last night was a photo shoot night. My BFF and her family needed pictures!

Michelle...funky and beautiful!

I learned during this photo shoot that I am not good at photographing animals. They wanted their family pets in the photos. I got the backs, bootay, leg lefting, peeing, butt sniffing, don't look at me selves. Three dogs and not one of them looked my way no matter what kind of jumping jacks, cartwheel, back bends or whistling I did. Okay, so I just whistled and called their names. In my mind...I was doing all that great stuff....a girl can dream.....

Hope everyone Celebrated the birth of our Nation safely.

We celebrated at home with family and friends. We missed two very important people. Tim's mom was unable to attend the Butler Manor Annual 4th of July because she had knee surgery and probably can not make it up our stairs to the deck and the 100 degree mugginess was not working in her favor either and our nephew John is serving his country in Afghanistan and will be home in August for leave.

Tons of pictures were taken and they were all good. For us, our get together's are all about everyone having fun, especially the kids. Swimming, food, fireworks and SAFETY.

No one was safer than this little girl, my 6 year old niece, Alyssa, who is my Sweet Shot Tuesday.
She will not drowned in the water or on land.
We will not loose her in a crowd, her leggings are bright and protecting her from mosquito's.
She has her sun visor ready, just in case the sun decided to come back out at 8pm.
She has on her swim suit, ready at anytime to get back in the pool.
And, just in case we can't find her, she has smoke bombs, AND just before I took this picture, she had a lighter. I fixed that problem. Apparently her older sisters and friends thought that a 6 year old needed her own lighter.

Mayor Nichols said the he doesn't get all emotional at weddings, but, when Crystal started crying, he got emotional. Couldn't help himself. Who was cryin? The bridesmaids were cryin (her daughters), Mary Margaret was cryin, the mayor, everyone but me I guess. Why not me? I didn't know she was crying until I started looking at the photos. How observant am I?

Loveless-Andrews Wedding

Where there is Love...

Weddings are stressful, right? Where to the get the flowers, cake, dresses, shoes, not to mention the cost. My favorite are the are the intimate weddings. The ones that show you who the couple is. Ridiculously huge weddings are espcially stressful, you know the kind, 15 attendents, pretentious music, big fluffy dresses with ugly hats...whether big or small...when the doors open and the bride and groom see each other for the first time, that look, the look, makes all the stress worth while.

Crystal and Jason's wedding was the sweetest and intimate wedding. Her daughters were her bridesmaide and his nephews were his groomsmen. They chose songs that fit them, not that pretentious, stuffy music. The grins on their faces ALL AFTERNOON spoke volumes.

I don't want to post too many pictures, since the bride and groom are on their honey moon, it wouldn't be fair for you all to see their pictures first, would it? So, starting with the cake, the grooms mother made the cake and it was beautiful!

I learned how to use texture. Visions of beautiful artsy looking photos dance through my head. For now, you will have to settle for more pictures of MM and Kevin. I can't convince Taylor to take good pictures for me. She looks mad...well she is mad...cause I'm cutting into her ipod, texting, jumping on the trampoline time when I want to do pictures. So, until the weather clears back up and I can persuade Sarah, Taylor's friend, to let me do pictures...the love birds it is.

I opened this picture in my photo editing program and copied it.

I pasted it as a new layer on top of MM and Kevin.

I stretched it to fit over the picture, at this point you should not be able to see the picture at all. To the right is a handy little menu that shows me my layers. I changed the opacity to what I thought looked good.
This is what I got.

Of Course, when I figured out that I could add stuff to my photos... I couldn't be stopped! I added a collage of photos. His birthday is this weekend...I'm thinking he's gonna be getting a lot of cool photos!

Mr. White, who is my "down the road" neighbor, let me use his barn as my location for Taylor's pictures. It's old and makes an awesome backdrop. I think it made a pretty cool backdrop.

I played around yesterday while the kids weren't looking. I think I'm hooked on the "behind" shots. In this photo is Mary Margaret and her best friend Steven. I wasn't close enough to them and failed to zoom...the ugly trash cans had to go...
Can you see the little green leaves on the trees? I'm so ready for spring!

Using my editing program (at 11pm last night) I zoomed in and cropped. Cropping removed both of the trash cans and made the kids appear to be a whole lot closer to the fence than they really were. I tried several different things to make the colors pop, I wasn't feeling it. The day was gray, the trees haven't filled out enough, so I was stuck.

I tried the Time Machine application, which is done by years, 1875, 1900, etc. 1875 is a vamped up version of Sepia. The picture was looking better, I removed the noise, sharpened it a little and fiddled with the brightness and contrast and HOT DOG it's looking pretty SUPER... I ended up with one very sweet picture, worth framing!

On to the next photo. This is Steven. I did not take this photo. I was brave and let Mary Margaret have free reign with my camera. I know, I know, I never let anyone touch my camera. It was a big step for me. Ha ha...
Anywho, she was playing around and actually got some really good shots. Of course I had to edit. Duh.

One of the features I love on Corel PhotoPro is the skin beautifier. One click of the button and it's all good! Change the picture to a true black and white, adjust the brightness and contrast so that his face is not blindingly white and its looking pretty groovy!

Maybe, I can talk Steve-a-reno into letting me take some real photos one day....

Taylor turned 14 this month. She is growing into a beautiful young woman. She is getting the attitude of a teenager...Lord Help me! I love you my tbug.

I took some of the pictures down town. She's rocking don't ya think? This is what I started out with...

She loves the way the Glamour Application makes her pictures look soft. She wanted some color left in the photo, so I muted the reds and glamourized the photo and came up with this....

My favorite is the black and white

The next one is my absolute favorite. Problem is that it is badly over exposed. I can't do anything with it, everything I do makes its worse.

I got a couple of shots of Mary Margaret that day too. The color on this door rocks. What I started out with...

I used that cool lasso application to grab the door and enhance the blue, used the lasso to grab MM's eyes and enhanced her eyes that happened to be blue that day. I played with the brightness/contrast, added a little glamour, used the skin beautifier to get rid of a few freckles and I also removed some of the hair on her forehead, the wind was awful that afternoon. I came up with this amazing photo. Her eyes POP! (kind of sounds like it takes a lot to make her look good hahahaha)

Christmas Eve I had the honor of spending a couple of hours with the Littlejohn Ladies. Ms. Cricket was one of my Clark Grandparents first dinner guest after they were married. I'm missing Papaw today, its the 2nd anniversary of his death.

These gals are fun to hang with. They paid me and fed me, what more can you ask for?

Yep, I was back at it again. I borrowed some of my friends kids this time. I love my girls, but I need someone different to work with every once and a while.

I've watched all these girls grow up, some I knew before they were born and others, like Samantha, we've know since the girls were all in kindergarden. They've all grown up so fast and beautiful.

Maggie is just so freakin cute and check out those eyes!

Shelby, I knew before she was born. I tried really really hard to get her mom Dianna to name her Kaye Jr. I failed. When the first Harry Potter movie came out, Shelby had to tell my husband Tim something about Harry Potter almost everyday. She is such a georgous young lady.

I got paid for taking pictures. I love it! My first purchase was this.

Now I will be able to work at home. No more stealing time here and there! I'm excited. Can't wait to get it in the mail and start working! I hope I'm not disappointed. I wanted Adobe Photoshop, its still a bit out of my price range.

Taylor had Chior practice Saturday, they are making a video for the Children's Praise Team. Mary Margaret and I headed to downtown Wynne to take her 14 year old pictures. I am by no means a professional. I know what I like and I take it. This was taken at a building that is crumbling, perfect for a teen picture.

After. I use Microsoft Picture It to edit my photos. I like the size of this picture, but not the hand (the finger nail polish is horrible). So, I took it out with this neat little feature called clone. I picked an area of bricks and cloned them. Pasted the clone over the hand! Added her name, changed the contrast and brightness and I have a picture that I love and she hates.
It was her idea to swing around the old light pole and it turned out to be a great idea. Saturday was a dreary rainy day. We happened to be in town in between rains. Can you tell it was a horrid day?
